How's this for cute!
My boy was showing out a little today!
I guess he was trying to top his sisters new hat. (many women wear kerchiefs around their heads hear but on her it was adorable.
You can see our efforts to keep the kids awake went un rewarded. We got there early this morning and after being fed and playing hard for 2 hours they were ready for sleep. I think the caregivers (sorry I've been calling them caretakers) have resigned to the fact that we are not going to make enemies of our children just to keep them awake. When they are ready to sleep, They mean to sleep. nothing we do will keep them awake unless we like watching them cry. (We don't)
You will see here that we are holding Alia but they just brought Bolat in and we are talking to him. I don't know why they want to take pictures before we get to play with our kids. We want to play, pictures later!
JP, The Seinfeld comparison was not lost on us but his wide lanes were smooth. Holly and I have been checking out all the episodes that mention Kasha on the laptop. I didn't mention it because you and Kent are the only 2 on here who would get it.
I love this picture.
Today we showed Bolat a pacifier. He loved it. He didn't use it right but he loved it. We took it away before they took him though because we didn't get his green ball back from yesterday that he wouldn't let go of and we didn't want it to have the same fate.
Alia had a little hat failure but it was cute. I don't think this hat is as comfortable as her usual one.
Today we met with the kids doctor. We were able to ask many questions and she was somewhat helpful. She said the kids were already showing signs of improvment so they must feel our love very strongly. (We do) She was still amazed at Alias' improvement since we came. She said "before you come, she sad and just lay in crib. Now she always looking,,, smiling. She know her mommy and daddy here." Alia has a gorgeous smile but if we get the camera out we get the deer in the headlights look everytime. We'll catch it for you soon.
Gulnara met with the judge today and has changed our court date to the 5th instead of the 6th so keep that date on your prayer list.
We also met with the minister of education today??? Why we do not know but she asked many questions. You so young, why adopt. Why 2.,,, 2 very hard! Stuff like that and I think we pleased her. You know Holly she always has the crying card to play.O)
Before she left, she was patting her on the arm telling her it would be ok. She could see we loved them very much.
Derek and Sara, When asked why 2 we always answer because we grew up with a Brother/sister and we couldn't imagine life without them. We wanted our children to have the same. It is true! And we thought as long as we were telling complete strangers this we should tell you as well.
Love to you all

O MY!!!
I just finished my storytime here in the library with 14 precious children. As they were leaving they were talking about babies so I said...you want to see my babies? Imagine my surprise to find NEW pictures to show off::)
So with about children crawling all over me we began to see the new pictures. Sawyer Wilson said he new Holly and he liked that baby. Lots of OOOing and AAAwwwing!! Mostly by me!
Speechless!!!
Sara
The pictures just keep getting better and better! Bolat was so funny in the first picture and Alia is so precious in the little hat. Hope you have had a great day with them. Glad it went so well with all of the questions. These babies are so blessed! Guess you are turning in for the night....Rest well:) Still praying for each of you and for the Sept 5 date. Love...Christy
Yep , it's bed time. I would love to go to sleep earlier but can't get Holly to do it. Our days are long. Most people think it's 2 hours of visiting then twidle your thumbs but we leave hear by 8 in the morning and get back by 4 if we're lucky. By then we are usually getting hungry because we don't eat lunch on the road. then there are other things to get done before getting up and doing it all over tomorrow. That's the fun part, Getting to do it again. I've never woke up before my alarm went off so often. We have real incentive. Love to all
I get the feeling you are not sight seeing in the off hours??? I know it takes 2 hours of adventurous travel. But what else are you doing? Do you have to wait when you get to the baby house? Or is that time filled up with meeting the "minister of education" ;) I know you are tired...but I am so curious.
Give my kisses back to Andrew (that first picture looks like a big smooch)
Holly, that hug you are giving Alia...that's is what I want to be doing. I know they are all yours, but I am hoping you will be able to share your children when you get back stateside. I am not above what they call over their bringing "gifts" to get what I want. ha ha If bribary works...for hugs...I'm there!!
Love to all
Sara
sam and holly: every time you send pictures, i think these are the best. I especially liked that hat on alia. I chuckle when you all tell about them falling asleep despite your efforts. They are really in a routine aren;t they? When they get home i have a feeling they will learn new routines. Sounds like you all are handling the bureaucracy well..love poppy
I think our coordinator and driver feel they need to fill our day since we are paying their salary. They run us here and there to check this and that. Holly and I usually have no idea what we are doing. But we would be perfectly happy to go straight there and straight back here. We actually would sight see if we had the time. But any little stop they want to make adds hours to our day. I know I posted about the traffic but it is undescribable. Like I said take all lines away and turn 100,000 12 year olds loose in Paducah and see how traffic is. If it's not white knuckle. your in a traffic jam.
We do have to wait at the babyhouse a lot which is fine but hard because we know the kids are just behind that wall and we can't have them. We would be perfectly happy just to watch them sleep.
We are having fun though. I hope I don't ever sound like I'm not. This is honestly a living dream!!!
Good night
Hey guys, the pics just keep getting better. Denver from work said that you guys need to try a restaurant some time. I told him that there were eating issues to deal with (as nice as I could put it). He said not be scared, while there they tried some "on the side of the street" freshly grilled kabobs which were very good. Yeah, yeah, I know. He just said to try shashleek sp?. Getting ready to show him today's pics. Give them hugs for us in the am.
The incredible smiles on your faces tell us louder than any words could say...that you are definitely enjoying yourselves!!!
Don't change your stories for fear of scaring us we are having the time of our lives too (times 2)
Sara
Holly and Sam, was waiting for the post this am when I remembered that I was to take the kids to school...had to run out w/o my fix. just got home and our computer is playing games with us again, so I'm across the road.
Holly, I ran into your Aunt Bessie and Aunt Jean, her daughter and son-in-law. Just happened to have a couple of pictures to show them. They did the appropriate OOOOwing and AAAwing...Said they were
beautiful (or something simular) then turned right around and said Bolat looked like Tommy. Gramps have you been called beautiful lately? Didn't think so.
Sam I ran into Lil Tony Dunnigan and his wife today. Guess the lil doesn't fit anymore, he has grown up. Had to tell me who he was. They said they had run into you recently and commented on your good carving. Their son Keaton was in a wreck last night, suppose to leave for college tomorrow. Thought he was mostly brused and sore, hopefully.
The pictures are something else, you or they are definately improving....The better paper I got helps alot too.
It's almost supper time and nothing even started, guess we will go to Parcells on our way to the girls game. Wish you were here to go with us.
Love Granny D

Sis, I will try to keep telling the stories of the day but I'm afraid sometimes that people will think I'm complaining. I just want yall to experience as much of what we do "as we do"! I still will not get across the driving.
Mary Beth. I was going through old e-mail last night and saw one from you. I don't remember if we replied to it or not. (I am sorry if we didn't) You and Karen (another adoptive parent/friend)undertand much of what we feel. I'm glad you are following along on our journey.
Mom, I wish we were going to there games with you too. "ah, Parcels...." You will find we don't get pictures posted until around 10 am your time. We get on about 8 here but it takes about an hour to load those pictures onto the internet. Hug the kids for me (Whit,Em,Eric)Tell them I still haven't had time to set up instant messenger but will try soon.
Cecil, I was just commenting to Holly how much I was missing work. "I may never return." Thank you and Judy for following along with us.
Jp and Julie, I agree with something Kent said. How is it we keep up better from across the globe than from 200 miles????
Give Allie and Ashley hugs from Holly and Me. Now you whave a good reason to come see us.
Mechelle, Thanks for showing off my kids. We can't decide which pictures we like best either. To be honest we would take no pictures if we could and just play. but we know we will want them later and everyone back home gets to join in this way. Yesterday I was feeding Alia and it was going well. Then Holly asks me to try to take a picture of her and Bolat eating. I ended up with kasha on my face, shirt and Knees!!?? No pictures would be much easier.
We will also try to reply every morning (for us between 7 and 8) By 9 pm for you guys. before We're of to see the kids
JUdy Thanks for showing pictures to my aunts. I have actually had a few people say that Bolat looked like Derek did when he was little. Derek had real dark eyes like Bolat does now.
Just got back from taking supper to Aunt Adele and Uncle Roy and teaching them how to play Rummikub.
Todays posting is GREAT. Granny Judy must have shown Gail's sister Bessie some pictures of the babies. Bessie said, "Just look at that forhead and those eyes, he looks exactly like T.R., (his Grand Dad). Hope you still have contact with the English teacher,
so that she can teach you'all enough "Kas" so that you can read
the food labels at the store.
Hope that you'all and the babies are putting on weight. For your other "BABY", this just comes natural. Love Dad
It's me again, Granny D. Just had to say Alai is beautiful either smiling or wide eyed. Definately photogenic...Bolat looks like he might be a real fixit man, intently studying everything he gets his hands on. I looked us Kasha the other day, it is buckwheat. We don't use a lot of that over here, well in Ky., but I remember my mother making Buckwheat pancakes.
Pretty good as I recall.
How does Aunt 2 B get on there so fast every time you post? We'll have tochange her name to Blog doggin aunt.
I checked when we got home last night then printed some more, then Poppy got on E Bay. Didn't see you last post until this a.m.
