Is-Va- Neetchya, Glad to meet ya.

Things are looking up in the food department. Today We bought our driver some vegetables on the way to see the kids. I guess to repay us,
he brought us a snack while were playing with the kids. A melon, some Homemade bread and Something called Fried mashed meat all bought on the side of the road.
It is rude to refuse and he wasn't about to take no for an answer. ( we must remember not to buy him anything else.) The good news, We're still alive!
Holly and I just made a run to a place called the RamStore. It is kinda like a walmart. Shopping is a real adventure. I searched and search for
sour cream. We bought some potatoes on the roadside and Thought we might try a big baked one tonight with all the fixins (Perhaps with some good mashed meat)
but Alas, after all my schooling I could not read. It makes you realize what it would be like if you were iliterate. (no cracks about my writing).
more good news, while we were searching we heard english words. Not the American rock music either but real live English. Holly was on them like a flash.
If it hadn't been such a public place I think she would have cried, Which would have been nice because it would have made my crying blend in a little more.
Yes, sour cream no problem. we have found an english teacher, not the kind like you had in third grade, this one is here to teach Kazaks our language. Ergo
She must speak their language. We are very bright and figured this out almost all on our own. They gave us their phone # asked us to come to supper and departed.
Holly and I chanted the # to each other all the way to our temporary home. OK, who prayed for the english teacher??????????????????
With our new found confidence we toured the food section of the store. Yes we'll have one of those, and one of those, what's that. They only come in threes
, then by all means give me three. we have no idea what any of this stuff is but we are going to brave it. They do make the most beautiful deserts and holly was
willing to buy any of them but I suggested we try only one a day and not blow our hot streak on one roll.
All was well, Holly even was checking out the meat section which she won't even do at home. And there they were staring at us from under the glass. What
kind of life did those sheep live to end up staring at people from beneath the meat counter. Nasty looking things with what looked like golf balls made of foil
stuffed in there mouths. Nothing pleasant about that sight at all and it is bound to hurt sales. It looks like they could rotate out sheep heads every year
or so to keep them from looking so ragged.
We moved along, battered but not broken. next came the fish. I promise, I mean I really promise, Baby has passed up better looking fish at the river back home
I'm talking rotten dried fish. I could walk along the shore, choose only the worst fish and bring them here to swap out as fresh fish. I do so wish I could
take a picture of this. You would have to see it but they post guards at all the entrances and you can't carry anything in, Nothing.
By the Way isvaneetcha means excuse me.
Are you missing the pictures yet? Serves you all right for posting more comments for Holly than for me. But I will forgive just this once. But you will have to wait until after 8 here. it is cheaper to be online and it takes a while to post pictures.
I type all this before getting on that way I don't waist our internet minutes.

Mom, We e-mailed you anout the package. Too expensive or too Slow. We are Fine. We only speak the truth but do dramatize a little for enertainment. Life here is good.
Love ,,your starving son (Ha Ha)

I hope that you guys are recording some things that don't make it on here just for posterity sake. This is the stuff that will keep you guys warm on a cold winter's day in about 30 years. Take care of the little ones (warn Andrew that he already has a summer job lined up with me).

Hay Kids, glad you are better but Gail and I are your mothers, when you are hungry, we are willing to spend. I wondered about the time factor. I thought I had checked my E mails before I wrote you, but when I got off and checked, there was my answer. Sorry
About the shoping, I remember a missionary talking about shoping here and seeing a can of crisco with fried chicken on the label...they thought they were getting fried chicken.
Just got back from taking the kids to school...Emily remembered that what ever you said in the title of this post meant excuse me, from the tapes you all had listened to.
Aunt Jane was saying she wasn't posting much because she didn't want to use up your minutes. Is there a danger? Love Nan
p.s.
We have the picture of the kids looking at each other, laying on the blanket, as our screen saver...that big it is awsome.

I say Good Morning although I know it is Good Night for you. Hope your day was beautiful!! Although getting to see those adorable faces will make it so, I know.

Your two nieces are struggling with their schedules right now. Volleyball is all consuming and they are not used to having any time for themselves. It was better this summer before homework was added to the mix! Wish you could have heard them when they first saw the pictures. They haven't been on or posted as much as they would like, but they did manage to steal my pictures from me at church yesterday and run off to show more people. I guess I needed 3 pages worth of pictures?!

I am sure things are very different there and also difficult (loved Holly's description of doing laundry) but thanks for sharing all the details in such a humorous way. Laughing is so much more fun than crying and angry is usually what I get when I hear about how they have a heat rash all over, or the feeding style. GOOD GRIEF! Can't wait until you get to take over the role of Dad and Mom for good!!! Will that be September 6th?

Love and Prayers times 2

Just when you thought you couldn't love someone more! Isn't God just the best! It sounds like you two had a match made in heaven.

They showed pics yesterday morning at church, of course everyone is so excited for you.

My Dad was in Korea & Germany in the service and he loves to talk about the questionable food they ate. You do a great job describing it! I guess fermented cabbage would be a step up. Too bad we can't send a goody box.

Those little ones won't know what hit there taste buds when they get here. Jayson personally can recommend the Blueberry dessert and Hawaiin Delight(it was his favorite)!

My heart sure goes out to you guys! Your post describing those babies all alone just makes me want to bring them home. I'm sure it is hard to leave your little ones knowing the conditions they have lived in and how they wait for your visits.

We are remembering you and your Andrew & Elizabeth in our prayers and will pray for those lost babies. Can't wait to see you all home safely!

Mom and Dad - I sent you an e-mail. We are fine. Life is better today and we are adjusting. Bolat is also feeling better, but still not 100%. Check your e-mail please or post on here and let us know how stinky-pooh is doing - we really miss her and you all to of course. Thank-you for checking on the house etc. I love you!

Nanny - Please tell jane and anyone else not to worry about using our minutes - we will buy another I-card - it's not a big deal. We are posting at night and early morning because it is easier to get on here and just a bit faster and cheaper. Ask Emily if she remembers what spi-see-ba means?? dos-vi-donya (Good-bye)

Sara - We were wondering why the girls haven't posted, but figured they were busy with volleyball and homework. Please keep us updated on how their games are going. We really hope to go to a few when we return to the states. The children will be officially ours on Sept. 6, but we should get to bring them to the apartment before then. Sam said to send instant messanger i.d. and he'll see if he can get on. Thanks for showing baby pictures and keeping our friends informed at heartland. Thanks for the prayers as well. Love, holly

Nanny, now that you have figured out how to do that I Need a favor. Go back (if you can) and print off each post including comments. Holly would like to have it for the kids in the future. If it doesn't work let me know and I will see what I can do. I'm sure you will run out of ink but we will buy more cartridges for you. Holly has been fretting that we won't keep this for the kids to have.
If there are any pictures you want I will e-mail them to you in a bigger format (they'll print bigger) or if you can wait, I have every picture you have seen plus many more that I will print at a good old walmart when we get back to the states.
Thank you for the concern and the offer to ship us stuff but I really think we will be fine. It makes it all the more memorable to have a few hurdles. I love you SOOOOO much,,,your son

Had already thought about printing them all off for the future, then thought they will always be on the computer, then Jane said go ahead because something could always happen to the Blog. You just made up my mind. Will look into a book of some sort to put them in. Also my paper is cheap and will get some better paper today. Have new cartriges ready and waiting. No problem.
The new pictures are great, a tip, the next time someone else takes a pic of youall, maybe they could move in a little closer.
Poppy is golfing today maybe he will do as well as last time...You think?
Love Mom

Nanny, may of the pictures of all of us are set up and timed. We take those for the offical pictures. After I hit the button it doesn't give me long to get in the picture. I'll see if I can crop and magnify them some for posting. The one I told yall about where Holly is looking away is priceless if you know why she is looking away. but I don't think yall could see it.
I heard poppy did win, I wish he could relax and play as well with me. He says he doesn't but I think he tenses some. Thanks for taking care of the printing. Love,,sam
