Lukes passport and a visit to Kai Feng

A lot actually happened today.
We took a ride (about 2 hours) to Kai Feng to visit Hannahs Orphanage and finding place.
We didn't have opportunity to do it in 2011 and hated to miss the chance since we were so close.
Turns out it's Watermelon season in Kai Feng and navigating the streets was about as crazy as we have seen. And that's saying something....
Watermelons and tractor type vehicles for miles and miles. They seem to have the right of way no matter what lane or which direction they wanted to go. Maybe all the drivers gave way to them because they didn't want their cars destroyed but it was quite a trip.
Sorry no pictures just video and there is no way I'll get it to upload today.

This is what we wake up to most mornings. He seems to like to start his (and our) day with a smile.

Just a random picture of a bunch of scooters.... these things are everywhere..

We had these choices for supper tonight at the local Wal-Mart but we just couldn't bring ourselves to try them..

This boy may not like the seats he will have to ride in in the states but he is as good a traveler as the rest of our family..

Hannahs orphanage was torn down to make way for a new road so this is at the orphanage they built to replace it. The lady in the picture claims to have been one of Ru's caretakers When she was there.

The new orphanage was clean and new. Not sure how long that will last but all the workers there were kind and helpful. I'm sure most of them do the best they can with what they have for the kids.

After we got back we gave Luke his first bath in a tub.. Yes, we have cleaned him before but we usually start our kids out in the sink. But he adjusted just fine and Hannah enjoyed the company.

(Sorry removed the picture of Lukes passport,,,What was I thinking :)

This, is the result of the long day we had traveling to have Lukes picture taken a few days ago.
We now have his passport in hand so that he is ready for travel.
This is the last night we will be in Zhengzhou.
Tomorrow we fly to Guangzhou where the US consulate is.
(and hopefully better internet)
It's hard to believe we still have a week to go but then again thinking back a week and a half ago to when we flew out of Nashville, seems like forever ago.
So, a few doctor appointments and  a few more government regulations (hoops) to jump and we can bring this boy home......
You guys are gonna eat this boy up

We wanted smiles and we got em. So precious and such sweet smiles. Glad everything is pretty much gliding along and I keep telling myself it won't be long...just seems like a long time 'til you get home cause we miss you so. Glad, also, that Hannah is good with him. Had no doubt about the others but she is pretty much used to being 'the baby'. She will adjust just fine. Love and kisses all around
