question about soy formula
O.k. I am posting this hoping Andrea A. will see it (I don't have her e-mail address- and her daughter is on soy), however I will take comments from anyone that can help on this subject. Sam and I met with the dr. of the babyhouse yesterday and she said that Bolat has food allergies, can only have soy formula. What are some food allergies symptoms?? He does appear red around the mouth and on the cheeks after we feed him. Andrea (or any other mommies) is there anything else your child cannot have b/c of the food allergy. the dr. also told us to stay away from orange colored foods for him as well. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated by me and Bolat!!! Thanks so much, Holly

Sorry, I have no answers to your questions...hopefully someone will.
Don't let Nanny and Poppy rub Parcell's in too much, Sam. I saw them eating burgers at school. I think they opted to support Em and Whit's volleyball. Thank you!
It was a very easy win tonight at VB. Emily said it felt like she didn't even get to play. That is because most serves were never even returned over the net. She got to do very little setting and it was over quick. Still we enjoyed watching them both play. It was also good to be playing an easier team since Kayla was playing again tonight. Doc gave her the go ahead and she needed an easy one to start on.
I told Nanny all of our posts must be boring since we all say the same thing...they are so beautiful!! love the pictures... miss you. It is all very true! We can't help but gush. Anyway, I just shared something from our comparative boring life...why don't you come home and show us some real excitement??
Love
Sara
Hey Holly,
I'll try to help all I can. Whaen Samantha was on regular formula she was very fussy and had lots of bloating and gas. It did make her cheeks a little red too. When we put her on soy her whole demenor changed. We also had really bad issues with her spitting up so much and soy helped curve some of that. We still don't know if she has an actual allergy to lactose or if her stomach was under developed and sensitive. Soy seems to be more soothing and softer on their stomach. Easier to digest. Did the doctor mention anthing about a possible grain allergy? They eat the Kasha so much. Isn't that a wheat? Alot of babies have I an allergy gluten. I think that is what it is called.Just another thought. Is soy available for you there? I hope you are able to find some and give it a try. It really made a big difference to Samantha. I hope I have helped. If you have any more questions email me at writeandrea@yahoo.com
I can ask my mom to talk to a doctor at work tomorrow and see if there is anything else you could do. There is a doctore here who has been where you are and he and my mom have been talking about you. I will have her talk to him because he is so familar with your area. Maybe he can tell you where to find something that will help.
I will chat with you soon. Always in my prayers.
Andrea
Holly, If you have a chance let me know what Bolat usually eats in a day so my mom can share this with the doctor. Andrea
Holly,
Kendall was also allergic to formula. She couldn't even tollerate the regular soy,,, only Nutramagin (sp?). She never turned red around the mouth though. The grain allergy Andrea mentioned makes most sense to me as well. We are going to the Pediatrician today, Lexi's 2 year appointment,,, I will run it past him and let you know.
Oh,,,and I forgot. A couple of my kids, I don't remember which ones,,, turned orange on the nose,,, Morgan I think. The Dr. said it was from eating orange foods and was completely harmless,,, he called it Carrotosis,, spelled incorrectly of course. It went away. It was Morgan, she loved sweet potatoes and carrots. : ) Don't know if I am helping but,,, anyway. Take Care.
Hey guys. My carpooling buddy at work has a one year old that had to go with Nutrimagen sp? as mentioned in another post. Never turned colors, just very cranky, cried alot, gassy. Brought on colic like symptoms. Tried to take off of Nurtimagen at one point and all symptoms came back. Their doc did not say that she was lactose intolerant so I may not be helping at all. Agree with Andrea, would check as soon as possible for possible grain allergys. SEND MORE PICS.
Thank you all for your help. Now can you come read the labels over here and tell us which one you are talking about. we tried to go find a restaurant last night, stumbled around 2 hours and ended up coming back to the room and boiling a potato. (We walked right past where we were going but didn't know it)
Andrea - You ask his normal schedule of eating. here it is.
Kiefer (spelling?) dried bread, oatmeal kasha, dried cracker, mashed vegetables No/ carrots, He has no sugar in his diet right now because they aren't sure if it bothers him or not. I will see if our driver can help us find soy formula at the Ramstore tomorrow and then when we get back to U.S. check on the nutrimagin. I will also ask about possible grain allergy. Thanks again for your help. It's so hard to see him so hungry, yet not be able to give him the right foods. I think this is the reason he acts like he doesn't feel well at times. When he gets fussy our coordinator says "he have food allergy, he not feel well". Poor Baby!!
