Slow day for pictures

Bolat found a feather while we were playing outside. No, he's not eating it. but he sure did like it

Sorry all, I just didn't get many pictures today. I promise to try and make it up to you tomorrow.
Today I thought You could look at a few pictures of the caregivers. They love having there pictures taken, they come in and insist actually. then they expect copies.
Tommy and Gail, We will be in the room most of the evening/ (morning for you). We will stay off the internet until about 8:30pm /9:30am there here in case you call. I know Holly would love to hear from you.
Sara, tell the girls we will be online in the morning/evening for you so if they can get on I will try the instant messanger. probably between 8 and 9 pm for you. I hope it works!! If it does, Any of the rest of you can e-mail me your IM names and we will add you. I think my name is samdunning@yahoo.com but you can call me Kazak Buddy!
It is pouring outside here now but at least it is cool. We might walk to the store shortly (if it stops raining)but won't be gone long. We go there about everyday. Itis very modern and even though we can't read or understand anybody, It feels kinda like walking in the mall.
I will try to make tomorrow more interesting but it is hard to always top the day before.
Still alive and well in Kazakhstan....

You can see Emil in the back ground of this shot

Who do you think Alia is smiling at?

This is a lady we will see in court, The Minister of Education that we mentioned the other day.

I know many of you will have comments but remember, most of our communications are monitored. "Be kind"

Sam and Holly: Hey don't apologise. These are good pictures. Alia was really cracking up. I liked that. I am a curious sort. When you say Bolat likes to play. Describe some of his playing. I enjoy the details. Hey the caregivers are a nice looking group. Tell em we said hey and we appreciate the good care they give the children...love poppy

Dear Sam and Holly, So it is a slow day for pictures, the ones we got were great. Besides you will want the cargivers in this History book you are making for the kids.

I still am amazed at how those little buds have blossomed in just a few days. One week ago today you met them and they just kinda lay in your arms..
God is good!!!! Love Nanny

No apologies necessary! We love whatever we can get:) I admire the caregivers for what they do everyday. What a responsibility! You haven't commented on the "american" restaurant....is it for real? Only 10 more days!! Thanks again for letting us all be a part of this joyful experience...God is so good:) Lots of love...Christy

I wondered what the caregivers looked like. They are very nice looking, and as a babysitter I can appreciate their hard work. How was the restuarant? I hope you found something good there. I agree with nanny, it is great how you all have bonded. it shows. God is so good. love Elva

This is great. I love the pictures of the helpers. Looks to me like you have a good support group over there. This makes it so much easier on us watching from the other side of the world. This has been such a special week. Keep playing and posting.I will watch for your IM. Take care and LOVE you all!!!aunt Jane

Sam & Holly, You won't remember me, but I'm an "old" friend of KK, Aunt Jane (& your Mom). I saw your pictures at Doug's wedding last Saturday, and have been checking out your progress each morning - it's the highlight of my day!! I am praying for you and your precious babies. It's so wonderful to see how God is working. JaneAnn Henshaw (Sturgis,KY)

I too love the pictures. My favorite, other than the obvious, are of the scenery,,, houses, stores, food etc... Would have loved to see the market, but I get the rules part. And I too want to know about the restaurant. I love culture stuff. And you'll have to buy a cookbook or something so you can fix something later in their lives...

First of all, the restaurant was pretty good. Holly didn't feel well later though so I don't know how often we will eat there. Besides we can't afford it:O)
It is called Murphys Pub, it is Irish and we ate outside. All restaurants here serve beer so we try to get away from that. French fries are probably the best thing on any menu here.
Dad, Bolat likes to play anything. Bonk daddy on the head is one of his favorites! He has some stacking cups that he likes to knock over after I build them and he looks around at everything. No one can move or make a sound that he doesn't want to see. If you are trying to let him sleep and he hears a noise, he sits up. If you are giving him a bottle it is the same. He can stand with some help but it's his arms that are so active.
Alia though only 3 weeks younger doesn't show much interest in toys yet. She is content to be held and watch her brother.
Emily, I saw that you had a tourn. after I posted but maybe we cant try it when you get back. I'm not sure it will work from here though. Aunt Jane, what was your IM. I will add you and try it.
Michelle, the scenery is gorgeous. Huge snow capped mountains all around. We hope to go up into them soon and maybe we will take some pictures. we are told there is a huge ice rink up there and we will also post that.
As far as the quisine, there are no fast food places. Some Pubs that serve interesting versions of American food. All along the side of the roads are people set up selling melons, vegetables, Warm coke, and meats. Like I said earlier, the meat I ate was probably horse but honestly it tasted ok. Kinda like fried meatloaf. It could have been beef too, They just called it fried mashed meat.
Everyone here seems to love melons and sausage.
The food is very expensive but we are in a huge city. When we stop in small vilages to get things it is much cheaper but the selection is small. ( and probably not as sanitary)
Coke is plentiful. you see it in glass coolers everwhere but I don't know why they bother putting it in coolers because no one plugs them in.
I have adjusted well to the eating and now need to be carefull because Holly gets sick some at night and then is hungry during the day. So I always join her for food and am eating more than I should.
The caregivers really are nice ladies and our experience with them has been great. They have been very patient with us as we try to get Alia and Bolat used to us.
Jane anne - I do recognize the name but would have a hard time picking you out of a line up. But either way welcome to our Blog family and enjoy the journey.
And yes Nanny, "GOD is Goood"

I love Alia's smile, you can really see her little teeth...Christy

Christy, until you said it I didn't see her teeth in the picture. Holly is having a ball with both kids but Bolat is not as "clingy" as she would like. Alia loves to be held close and talked to gently but he is all boy. "Turn me around and let me see, give me a toy and let me play."
Goodnight!

Not to worry. Boys are different, but they sure do love their mommy:) (and daddy too) It is so neat to just see how God makes each of us unique...and he loves each of us just the way we are!! Bolat (Andrew) sounds like a busy young man with places to be and people to see! Can't wait to have some of that sweet snugglin from Alia (Elizabeth).

Nanny is right you will want all these pictures for your "book". You will be glad they are included. My favorite two are the top 2 of Alia. She is such a joy!!

The first one of You and Bolat on that beautiful day!! The sun is smiling on you both..or is that your happiness lighting up the day!

I saw Julie's post the other night and she mentioned the ice cold coke...if only. I had a feeling you would just be getting the warm, other country kind.

Just for the record, I was up and reading your post first this morning, but instead of getting my trademark first comment...I let Emily have it. By the time I did fixed lunches and breakfast and hair...and.... you get the idea. I had to go to work. So, yes, I am late, but I am here!

Lots of love
Sara

Sam and Holly, Today was my first time to look at the pictures of your precious babies. They are beautiful! They are so lucky to have such great loving parents to raise them. It is hard to see the computer right now because my eyes are full of tears. What a blessing! Seeing you with your babies reminds me of being in Germany with Kevin. I know how it feels to be alone in a foreign country. I was in Germany for two years. I couldn't speak the language and I know how you feel trying to communicate. I am so happy for you cause I know you will be so blessed for giving them a mommy and daddy. I love their names and I can't wait to hold them. You both are so special to us and we love you very much. Love Glenda.

We had a major storm here tonight & it knocked out our power for 2 hours. We didn't think we'd ever get to check on our "buddies." It is so interesting to hear about Kazah, and things that I will probably never see or understand. I never dreamed that you were in a big city. I think of everything as being "primitive" there. I'm picturing desert sands. Apparently not the case, huh? It 9:30ish here, at night, so you guys are probably already on your way to give more kisses to the beautiful babies. Any idea when they'll be coming back to the apartment??
We'll talk to you very soon!

Hi Sam, Holly, Andrew, and Elizabeth. I am so happy for you all. I have loved looking at the pics and reading what you all have been doing. Man, Holly and Sam, you all are good, little sleep, such busy days and you look so good. Life has never been this good however!! This blessed event couldnot happen to more deserving parents. I will be praying for you on court day. I think of you all everyday from my Regions Bank home. I love you all very much and can't wait to hug and kiss your children. Like a huge list of family and friends, I will babysit ANYTIME. You all are already parents of the year. I love you all. Jennifer
